How early should you book a lagan-season date?

Muhurat dates in November and December get taken nine months ahead. Here is what we actually see.

Wedding lawn set for an evening function

Every July the phone starts ringing, and every year at least one family calls in October for a December date and is surprised we have nothing left. This is the calendar we actually see.

July to August: the muhurat rush

Panchang dates for the coming season are usually settled by the first week of July. Within ten days of that, half our November and December evenings are blocked. These are not tentative holds either — families come with the 25% deposit in hand because they have already been told by three other venues that the date is gone.

If your date falls on a major muhurat, treat July as your deadline, not your starting point.

September: the second wave

September brings the families who fixed the rishta late. By now the lawn is thin on Sundays, but weekday evenings are open and honestly better — less traffic on the approach road, and the whole staff is on your event instead of splitting across two.

A Tuesday wedding in December gets you the same lawn, the same food and the same rooms for about fifteen percent less than the Sunday before it.

October onwards: what is realistically left

By Dussehra the good dates are gone. What remains is usually the hall rather than the lawn, or a date in late January and February. February is underrated — the weather is perfect, the bagicha is in flower, and you will have the whole property to yourself.

A short checklist before you call

  • Two date options, not one — it doubles your chances
  • A rough guest count, even ±100 helps us suggest lawn or hall
  • Whether the menu is full veg, so we can plan the kitchen
  • How many rooms the baraat party needs overnight
  • Whether you are bringing your own decorator and halwai

Call the banquet desk directly on +91 98765 43211. Neha handles the calendar and will tell you in one minute whether your date is free.
